Learning Management Solutions (LMS) LLC originated
from Creighton University, the top rated comprehensive
university in the U.S. Midwest (U.S. News
& World Report). It is a spin off company
based on four years of research and development
of computer tools to support distributed education
directed by Dr. Glynn, formerly an associate
professor at Creighton and now the CEO of
LMS.
The
prototype application (called LEADE) was created
to support, and was tested in the world’s
first online School of Pharmacy leading to
one of the most advanced degrees available
on the Internet today, the Doctor of Pharmacy
degree. Students using the early version of
LEADE scored higher grades than on-campus
students and reported high satisfaction levels
with LEADE due to its unique and innovative
pedagogical (teaching) features.
In
May 2002, Dr. Glynn formally established LMS in order to take advantage
of a clear worldwide market need for a technology
that could deliver education over the Internet
and manage the knowledge obtained from this
process and throughout an individual’s
lifetime. Since its formation, LMS has raised
initial seed capital, developed strategic
alliances, and created partnerships and contacts
located in the USA, Europe, Australia and
Latin America. With further research and development
is has refined its product to target a totally
neglected segment of the market - personal
knowledge and information management. In June
2004, Learning Management Solutions began
commercial shipments of KnowledgeWorkshop.
